Country Fair 2000
May 31, 2000 - June 4, 2000
VOLUNTEER PLANNING INFORMATION
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your interest in assisting us. We are very excited about celebrating our town's pride
& 300th birthday. It is a privilege to be part of this historical event. Framingham Tercentennial
"Country Fair 2000" will be held at Cushing Grounds.
This event will be the flagship event for the
Tercentennial Celebration and designed like an old-fashioned country fair. We will have entertainment, food, a
standard flower show, an antique car show, historical information, multicultural appreciation, fireworks,
as well as amusement rides, crafters, animals, petting zoo and a lot more. It will be a five-day event and
we need as many eager minds and willing hands as possible to help us. It is our vision to make this
a celebration of Framingham Pride, remembering both present and past.
As in any other venture,
committees need support and assistance to make them successful. We are counting on you to not only
lend us a helping hand, but also to spread the word to your neighbors and friends that it will be a
celebration of our life in our favorite hometown. Let's make this a memorable event for all facets of our town.
Whether you're young or young-at-heart, new to the area or a "townie" we welcome your input,
energy and volunteerism. With your help, there will be something for everyone. Many hands make the
workload light. Everyone has something that they enjoy doing. What is your expertise, and how might you
enjoy being a part of our monumental endeavor? Volunteering should be a fun outlet where working
together brings many reasons to smile.
We are looking to form some subcommittees to work on
particular areas of interest. If you have a gift for doing something that has not already been noted, please let
us know and we'll be sure to put you to work! We're depending on you to bring in your families,
friends, neighbors and co-workers to truly make this a community effort. Please feel free to sign up for
our subcommittees.
Communication, teamwork and reliability are vital to our success.
Subcommittees and volunteers should keep open communication with the Fair Co-Chairs.
Please contact us for further details or if you have any
additional names of dependable volunteers. Please call Co-Chairs Kathie McCarthy (875-1556) or Joyce
Capobianco (875-8193).
Thank you for joining us in planning our celebration of Framingham Pride. It's never
too late to say "Yes I can help
where do we sign up"!
Some subcommittees forming are: Sponsorships, Publicity & Signage, Seeking Grants, Program
Book, Community Relations, Booth Applications, Multicultural/Ethnic Pride, Scheduling/Coordinating
Special Events, Set-up & Breakdown, Security, Parking Attendants, Hospitality, Making Phone Calls,
Correspondence, Information & General Assistance. Thanks again!
