Traffic Alert, Detours, Road Construction (Dec. 2nd-9th)
FRAMINGHAM, MA- Roadwork on several major capital improvement projects in town will continue to wind down. Crews will be paving many of the roads that have been under construction during the past several months to prepare for the winter freeze.
Delays due to traffic and detours around some of the work sites can add to driving times, so motorists should plan accordingly.
The Town of Framingham's Department of Public Works / Highway Division / Capital Projects website offers residents and visitors to Framingham helpful information about current and upcoming construction projects.
The email traffic alert for the week of December 2nd - December 9th, 2011 indicates that:
"A" Street - Construction crews will continue to complete site restoration activities, including curbing, loaming and paving on "A" Street, restricting traffic to a one lane alternating traffic pattern while construction is underway. At the end of each work day, normal traffic flow on "A" Street will be restored. Access to side streets and Framingham High School will be maintained.
Auburn Street - Beginning Monday, December 5, 2011 due to the location of the construction work zone, Auburn Street will be closed to through traffic. In order to reach the eastern portion of Auburn Street, Auburn Street Extension and Beulah Street, traffic will be directed north on Edgell Road to Central Street, from Central Street to Kellogg Street, from Kellogg Street to Prospect Street, from Prospect Street to Worcester Road west, from Worcester Road west to Beulah Street or Auburn Street.
Concord Street, (North of Worcester Road / Rt. 9) - Site restoration work will continue on Concord Street between School Street and Summer Street, including site cleaning activities, paving, loaming and seeding. A combination of traffic management plans will be implemented as needed, including a one lane traffic management plan and a potential detour of southbound traffic from Concord Street to Cherry Street to Campello Road while construction activities are in progress. Construction activities will take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Construction crews are currently working between Old Connecticut Path and Summer Street installing sewer services and site restoration work, including curbing, loaming and paving in preparation for the winter months. While construction is in progress; southbound traffic on Concord Street will be intermittently detoured from Concord Street to Summer Street, from Summer Street to Beacon Street and from Beacon Street to Cochituate Road back onto Concord Street. Access to properties and side streets will be maintained throughout construction. Construction activities will take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Concord Street, (South of Worcester Road / Rt. 9) - Construction crews will continue to work in this area performing, clean-up activities, loaming and seeding, curbing and trench restoration. Construction activities will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Danforth Street Bridge - Bridge will be closed during construction. (Additional info on MassDOT website, see link at bottom of page).
Hartford Street / Grant Street - Site restoration work, including cleaning activities, paving, loaming and seeding will occur at the intersection of Hartford Street and Grant Street, as well as sidewalk restoration activities on Gorman Road. A one lane traffic management plan will be in effect while construction activities are in progress. Construction activities will take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

What is the story with the cross over @ Rte 9 and Prospect St being blocked — that is a total inconvenience for anyone coming from the west to shop at Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s etc.
