why dont you cancel school in the night like others than when people are getting ready

We just publish the information, the decision to call off school is made by the School Department.
I can’t speak for them, but I believe they wait as long as possible to call off school hoping either the storm will pass us over, or the roads will be cleared in time so they can keep the total number of “snow days” to a minimum, (as those days need to be made up in the summer).
Still, I agree with you — it would be nice if, when a storm is obviously going to hit Framingham that they make the call the night before so people don’t have to wait and wonder if they need to get up for school or not.
