Framingham Begins Search for Next Principal of Hemenway Elementary School
FRAMINGHAM, MA -- Ms. Liz Simon, Principal of Hemenway Elementary School recently announced her retirement at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
The Principal position has been posted and the District is currently seeking candidates to apply. The complete job description can be found on the Framingham Public Schools website, (see link end of this article).
Framingham community members are also encouraged to participate in the search and hiring process of identifying the new leadership for Hemenway Elementary School and are encouraged to contribute to the Focus Group Survey and/or volunteer to participate in a Stakeholder Screening Committee.
Ms. Simon is extremely proud of her 46 year career in public education, including more than 35 years in Framingham, 30 of which have been at Hemenway Elementary with the last 7 years as the school's Principal.
Principal Simon started her career in Woburn as a Special Education Teacher before working in Malden and then finding her way to Framingham Public Schools. With a foundation in special education and a passion for problem solving, Ms. Simon’s career has been dedicated to offering social-emotional support to children and helping teachers with their classroom needs.
“It’s been an honor and a pleasure to work alongside Ms. Simon since I arrived in Framingham in 2017,” said Superintendent, Dr. Robert Tremblay. “Her dedication to the Hemenway community shows in everything she does. While her time here in Framingham began long before I arrived, I am grateful for her many years of service and wish her the very best of health, success, and happiness in her next chapter.”
