Framingham Traffic & Road Work Week of May 9-15, 2021
FRAMINGHAM, MA - Motorists are advised that there may be construction work being performed during daytime hours on the following roads in Framingham during the week of May 9th - May 15th, 2021. Please note: Construction schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.
Edgell Road Gas Main Replacement - Eversource gas will continue replacing gas main on Edgell Road between the Nobscot intersection and Donovan Drive. Expect moderate delays. Lane shifts and/or a one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.
Cochituate Rail Trail - Deck placement on the new pedestrian bridge on Rt. 30 (Cochituate Road) on Thursday and Friday. Expect minor delays.
Gilbert Street Gas Main Installation - Eversource gas will continue replacing gas main on Gilbert Street between Nipmuc Road and Winthrop Street. Expect minor delays. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.
Leland Street Sidewalk and Road Improvements (Between Irving and Beaver Streets) - Sidewalk work continues. A two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Police details will be on-site to facilitate traffic.
Mt. Wayte Avenue Gas Main and Regulator Pit Replacement (Between Union Avenue and Franklin Street) – Eversource Gas will continue gas main work on Mt. Wayte Avenue. Expect moderate delays. A partial road closure will be in effect on Mt. Wayte Avenue eastbound. Traffic traveling eastbound will be detoured.
Newton Place Water Main Replacement - Water main replacement continues. Newton Place will be open to residents and emergency vehicles only during construction.
Nobscot Intersection Improvements - The City’s contractor will continue installing drainage on Water Street and Edmands Road and conduit installation, west side of Edgell Road, north of the intersection.. Eversource Electric will continue to relocate aerial wires on Water Street. Expect moderate delays. A two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.
Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES), Phase 6 - Sewer main pipe investigations will be conducted on Gates Road, Goodnow Lane, Rockridge Road, and New York Ave. Expect minor delays.
Osmose Utility Citywide Utility Pole Inspections and Restoration - (Verizon) Dig safe paint markings will be noticeable in the public right-of-way near telephone poles throughout the City for Osmose’s Citywide utility pole inspections and restoration. Urban Street Sweeping Program – Area B - The Highway Division will street sweep Area B on Tuesday, May 11. NO PARKING will be allowed from 9 AM to Noon. Vehicles parked on the street will be ticketed and towed.

Water Main Flushing - North Framingham, Zone 1 –
The Water Division will continue flushing water mains via hydrants in Zone 1. Water Main flushing will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in residential areas and 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., in business areas. The purpose of the program is to improve drinking water quality for residents and businesses in Framingham. Please reference the website for a daily flushing status update.
