Traffic Alerts & Detours (June 25th - June 29th, 2012)

Be prepared for detours and delays as Framingham Sewer and Road Construction continues.

FRAMINGHAM, MA- Roadwork in town continues this week, (Monday through Friday, June 25th - June 29th, 2012).

Delays due to traffic and detours around some of the work sites can add to driving times, so motorists should plan accordingly.

The Town of Framingham's Department of Public Works / Highway Division / Capital Projects website offers residents and visitors to Framingham helpful information about current and upcoming construction projects.

You can view up to date traffic alerts, maps of project work sites and traffic detours, and sign up to receive email alerts for all or any of the currently listed projects.

The email traffic alert for the week of June 25th - June 29th, 2012 indicates that:

A Street - Construction crews are anticipated to mobilize on the northern end of A Street to begin the final sewer main connection to the A Street Waste Water Management Facility. While construction is in progress, the northern end of A Street will be closed and all traffic will be detoured to the southern end of A Street. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Central Street / Edgell Road - Construction crews will be working in various locations on Edgell Road and Central Street performing punch list items. While construction is in progress, there is a potential for lane shifts and one lane alternating traffic through the work zone. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Expect delays while traveling in this area.

Eisenhower Road - Construction Crews will begin to install sewer force main on Eisenhower Road. While construction is in progress, traffic through the work zone will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Expect delays while traveling in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Grant Street, Mansfield Street, Pond Street and Everit Avenue - Construction crews will begin to connect properties to the temporary water main bypass piping and performing water main construction on Grant Street between Howard Street and Arthur Street. While construction is in progress, Grant Street will require lane shifts and potentially the use of a one lane alternating traffic management plan through the work zone; Mansfield Street, Pond Street and Everit Avenue may be restricted to local traffic only. Expect delays while travelling in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Kings Row Lane - Sewer main construction activities will continue on Kings Row Lane between the cul-de-sac and the Massachusetts Turnpike. While work is in progress, Kings Row Lane may be restricted to a one lane alternating traffic management plan through the work zone. Expect delays while traveling in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Mellen Street and Coburn Street - Construction crews will continue to perform water main work on Mellen Street between Coburn Street and Waverly Street. While work is in progress, Mellen Street and Coburn Street will be open to local traffic only all other traffic will be temporarily detoured. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

North Concord Street, (Rt. 126 North of Rt. 9) - Construction crews will continue to perform sidewalk restoration, looming and seeding; and sewer main adjustments on Concord Street between Cochituate Road (Route 30) and south of School Street. Construction activities may restrict normal traffic patterns to a one lane alternating traffic pattern, please use caution while travelling in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

South Concord Street, (Rt. 126 South of Rt. 9) -  Construction crews will continue to install water main on Concord Street between Kendall Street and Howard Street and begin sewer main construction on Concord Street between Howard Street and Waverly Street. While construction is in progress, Concord Street will be reduce to a single lane of travel for both northbound and southbound traffic between Kendall Street and Waverly Street. In order to maintain public safety, minimize adverse impacts on emergency response time, traffic flows and business in general, construction activities will be performed during the overnight hours between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

State Street - Construction crews will be installing detectable warning panels and working on sidewalk ramps at Church Street and Maynard Road. While construction is in progress it may be necessary to restrict traffic travelling through the work zone to a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Valentine Road - Sewer main construction will continue on Valentine Road. While construction activities are in progress Valentine Road will be open to local traffic and emergency vehicles only, all other traffic will be temporarily detoured. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

During the week of June 25th the Department of Public Works Highway Division will begin roadway patching and shim work in the following locations: Burbank Circle, Corrine Drive, Davidson Road, Gregory Road, Hadley Road, Joyce Road, Lancaster Drive, Oakvale Road, Overlook Drive West, Rolling Lane, Sloan Drive, Whittemore Road. Roadway construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Expect delays when traveling in these areas.
