The Jason Yeager Trio Plus 1 and The Mark Zaleski Sextet
Modern straight-ahead jazz and improvisation combined with infectious African and South American grooves, Middle Eastern modes, and classically inspired counterpoint -- these elements only begin to describe the dynamic and collaborative sound of the Jason Yeager Trio. Rooted in the jazz tradition but forward-thinking in their bringing of diverse life and cultural experiences together, this ensemble is emerging as one of the music's most exciting up-and-coming jazz trios. After touring with Jethro Tull and sharing the stage with the likes of Dave Brubeck, Christian McBride and Robin Eubanks, Mark Zaleski brings his six-piece jazz/modern-rock fusion group to the Zing. They are some of the nation's finest young talent (aged between 21-26 years old) and based in the Boston area. Mark first performed at ATAC as a high school student, and he returns now with this great ensemble.

Jah-N-I Roots Band
JAH-N-I Roots Band (pronounced Jah-In-I) has been striking the airwaves with music of mystical over standing of the time in which we are living in. Based in Dorchester, MA, they are often seen as a roots band out of the hills like hermits / Ancient Rasta men and wombman, delivering a message of truth and of righteousness while pointing out the reality of life and its reasons. The band was originally formed in 2002 by Barriffe Mackenzie, an inspired Rasta now an initiate of the levity. The members of JAH-N-I were all born in different parts of the earth but have one common ground, music and the desire to play and sing, music that can create a change in the common and uncommon environment. JAH-N-I music is a collective effect that carries a vibration of truth with right rhythm, for the mind, body and soul.

Occidental Gypsy Jazz Quartet
Their well rehearsed and lightning fast swing brings the Parisian jazz manouche of the 1930's alive and the audience to it's feet. The musical genre has undergone a tremendous resurgence in popularity for it's sophisticated yet sentimental sound and swinging precise rhythm, often light hearted and whimsical, sometimes aching with melancholy. It was guitarist Jean Baptiste "Django " Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli along with their Quintet of the Hot Club of France who eventually codified this fusion of swing, American jazz and manouche (traditional gypsy music).
