"Yas, Yas, Yas".Dan Bowden and Bob Christopherson, two faculty members at Berklee College of Music, formed a duo to explore the great Pre-war piano/guitar groups, naturally leading them to the music of Leroy Carr (with Scrapper Blackwell) and Tampa Red (with Big Maceo). Minden Jones came to Bowden's attention as a student in his Early Blues Ensemble at Berklee, walking into the first day of class with a full repertoire of Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey along with considerable professional experience. Bowden instantly informed Christopherson "we have our singer!" and Pinchback Blues was born, dedicated to the dynamic and authentic performance of the early blues greats.Minden Jones vocal ; Dan Bowden guitar ; Bob Christopherson piano/vocal ; Greg Holt string bass/sousaphone ; Casey Scheuerell drumsWhat's A Pinchback? In a "Pinchback Blues," advice is offered to women to avoid being taken advantage of by a handsome, fast talking and unemployed "pinchback" and to find a decent, hard working man with a job.

Peace and Reconciliation: Free Public Talk
"Peace and Reconciliation" by Ryder Stevens, C.S. on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Cushing Memorial Chapel in Tercentennial Park, 60 Dudley Road, Framingham. Ryder Stevens is a practitioner of Christian Science healing and a former military chaplain, serving 23 years active duty in the U.S. Army. He worked with Peace Keeping forces of Sub Sahara Africa and contributed to conflict resolutions in Bosnia-Herzegovina. His talk is in response to the seemingly irreconcilable differences and unsolvable conflicts that hinder peace between people in our nation and around the world today. At this talk, you'll discover that prayer is a practical, effective means of conquering fear and resolving conflict, with universal spiritual laws that you can rely on for unity and healing. This Christian Science lecture is sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Framingham. For more information or directions, call the Christian Science Reading Room at (508) 872-0442 or go to www.csrrfram.com and click on Events/Lectures.
