Veterans Acupuncture Care Metrowest
A local group of volunteer acupuncturists is offering free community acupuncture for veterans, active military, first responders and their families. The program addresses issues related to post combat stress such as sleep, anxiety, panic or other mood changes. VAC is located at St. Andrew's Church 3 Maple St. Framingham MA. The ongoing clinic will be open the hours of 10 a.m.-12 noon every Saturday. Last sitting is 11:30 am. Walk in. No appointment needed. Students will learn hand building techniques such as slab, pinch, and coil to create original works of ceramic art.After the student uses underglazes to add color to their unique design, works will be fired in the kiln and parents will be notified when ready to pick up. Civil War Exhibit Grand Opening & FHC App Launch
Join the Framingham History Center for the grand opening of our permanent Civil War exhibition in Framingham's Civil War memorial building. With a recent increase in exhibit space and the discovery of significant artifacts, this exhibit fully documents Framingham's important role in the Civil War. Discoveries include a bronze plaque honoring General George Gordon, clothing from the era, and more stories from the battlefield and home front. This free event will include a marching drill for children, an honor and color guard ceremony including a rifle volley, and music from Shades of Gray: Civil War Era Camp Band.Following these events, be the first to download and try our new Framingham History Center app featuring In the Footsteps of a Civil War Hero: A Walking Tour of General Gordon's Framingham on the Centre Common. We are so excited to launch this free self-guided version of one of our most popular tours with historic images, professional narration, and location-aware tour stops. We'll provide a demonstration of how to download and use the app (suitable for iPhone and Android) before you set out for an afternoon walk that will forever change how you look at this iconic space.This app is made possible by: Impact Framingham, Massachusetts Cultural Council, and the Framingham Cultural Council

Join us for a night of hand-building with clay! Come with ideas or get inspiration from teacher Cheska Komissar. Make ceramic bowls, mugs, or containers with your friends, date, or girl-squad, all while enjoying conversation and laughs. Works will be decorated with carving or stamping, painted with underglaze, and fired in the kilns. We will contact everyone when works are ready to pick up. Cost per person: $45

Day of Wellness
On Saturday, April 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., The Plymouth Church in Framingham is excited to invite the entire community to a free Day of Wellness. A variety of experienced professionals in the fields of massage therapy, acupuncture (from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.), yoga, yoga for kids, meditation, Qi Gong, spinal screenings, and Reiki treatments will be on hand to offer classes and personal consultation. Check your blood pressure, take a meditative walk in our Labyrinth, learn new ways to maintain your health and well-being. Admission is FREE. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be a special area for kids.
