Framingham Family Fair: Celebration of Young Children
Come join us for FREE activities and special performance designed for young children to enjoy. Children's musical artist, Philip Alexander will have you singing and dancing to music from around the world. Dancing Arts Center will expose children to ballet by reenacting a classic children's storybook. Our community of early educators will provide hands on "brain building" activities where children and families will explore STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), a Story Walk, nutrition, fitness,and much much more. This event will be held at the Memorial Building, Nevins Hall right in downtown Framingham. Free Smoke Alarm Installations -Red Cross & Framingham Fire Dept
The American Red Cross in partnership with the Framingham Fire Department and the Framingham Council on Aging will be installing free photoelectric smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in Framingham on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 starting at 9 am. The campaign's goal is to install smoke alarms in homes that need them and teach people about what they need to do now to be prepared should a fire break out in their home. Residents should call the Council on Aging to register for the free installation: English speaking residents call: 508.532-5980; and Spanish speaking residents call: 508-532-5980 ext 4111.Framingham single family and two family homeowners are eligible for this program if the home was built prior to 1975 and has not been remodeled or sold since 1993, or currently not for sale.

If you worked at Dennison, this will be a walk down memory lane and even if you didn't, you won't want to miss this special opportunity to hear the stories and explore the plant (inside and out) that once employed as many as 3,000 workers. Using a broad range of resources, theories, and studies, he brings a fresh and open-hearted approach to the work of individual and community healing. Mr. Mitchell was featured in the documentary, Still Black: A Portrait of Black Transmen, as well as being the subject and author of many articles through the years. He is the Co-Founder of Recovering the Promise Ministries, a fellowship-affiliated ministry in Springfield, MA.The event will take the form of a 30-minute presentation in which Mr. Mitchell will share his and others' personal experiences, along with the most recent factual information in the field of gender studies. Veterans Acupuncture Care Metrowest
A local group of volunteer acupuncturists is offering free community acupuncture for veterans, active military, first responders and their families. The program addresses issues related to post combat stress such as sleep, anxiety, panic or other mood changes. VAC is located at St. Andrew's Church 3 Maple St. Framingham MA. The ongoing clinic will be open the hours of 10 a.m.-12 noon every Saturday. Last sitting is 11:30 am. Walk in. No appointment needed.
