The Toughcats (at Amazing Things)
The Toughcats: Energetic. Catchy. Exciting. Danceable. Memorable. Lovable. Amazing. Reviewers have compared them to Wilco, called them "Coastal Maine's answer to the Avett Brothers", and praised their collaborations with Old Crow Medicine Show; but, everyone agrees: you absolutely have to experience The Toughcats live. Their warm acoustic music - national guitar, banjo and a rather unique drum kit - sounds more from the hills and hollows of the mid-Atlantic than the open waters of the Northeast. Amazing Things Arts Center, 160 Hollis St., Framingham. Tickets: $15 ($12 Members; $14 Students/Seniors)

Jim led the band on guitar and vocals, shaping its good-humored mix of old-time folk, jazz, blues, and 1920s and '30s "whoopie music." Styrofoam Collection/Recycle Day
Grace Church will be holding their 7th Styrofoam collection on that day, coinciding with a huge Earth Day event on the Village Green, hosted by the Sierra Club of Framingham. In Framingham, as well as many other towns & cities in the area, Styrofoam does not get recycled but ends up either in the landfill, or burned, which creates a toxic ash. Because of this, Grace Church has arranged with Refoamit, LLC, to collect as much as possible of this product on a quarterly basis. Their truck will be at the church, 76 Salem End Road, on that Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. for this purpose. We urge everyone to tell neighbors & friends, including those from surroundin towns, about theevent and help us fill the truck to overflowing! There are no fees for this, although donations to offset expenses will be accepted.
