Toward a Radical Pedagogy of Climate Change (FSU/Zoom Meeting)
Join us for an event as part of the Scholarly and Creative Showcase Series at Framingham State University (FSU) on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Dr. Vandana Singh, Professor of Environment, Society, and Sustainability, will guide us on a transdisciplinary journey exploring the intersections of science, society, ethics, and pedagogy. Beginning in the FSU classroom and traveling through Arctic Alaska and rural India, she will share insights that shape her 2024 book, Teaching Climate Change: Science, Stories, Justice. Following the lecture, a discussion will feature Ben Alberti, Kristen Bennett, Ishara Mills-Henry, and Folashade Solomon. This presentation, Toward a Radical Pedagogy of Climate Change, promises to inspire meaningful dialogue. Sponsored by: The Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching, Scholarship, and Service (CELTSS)

Metrowest Symphony Orchestra
From Schubert to St. Clair, this concert will take us from early nineteenth century through the twenty-first century. The earliest written piece is Franz Schubert's "Concerto for Arpeggione", which is named for, and was written for, a six-stringed ancestor of today's modern cello. Soloist Seth MacLeod will play the version for cello and string orchestra. A worldwide favorite, Charles Gounod's opera "Faust" (1859) has ballet music as well as song and story. The ballet music was added to the opera ten years after its first performance. Aaron Copland's "Quiet City" was originally composed as incidental music for a play by that name by Irwin Shaw. It is now best known as a piece of music separate from the play. And, commissioned on behalf of the MSO, Richard St. Clair's new piece "Hello!" celebrates the collaboration of the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra with Framingham State University. Adults $20, Seniors/Veterans/Students $10, FSU Community and Under 12 Free. FOR TICKETS go to our website or email info@metrowestsymphony.org or call (339) 222-2723.
