Rotary Club of Framingham's 6th Annual Pancake Breakfast at Keefe Tech, 750 Winter St., Framingham (East Side Room Restaurant). Pancakes, sausage, potatoes, Juice coffee, milk. Saturday, Nov. 4, 7:30–11:00 a.m. $5 donation, children under 5 free. All proceeds to purchase air conditioners for senior citizens in public housing. For more information: www.framinghamrotary.org. The Centers for Disease Control says seniors, the poor, and people on medication are most at risk for death from extreme heat. In 91% of these deaths, there were no air conditioners in the home. Thus far Framingham Rotary has placed 75 units with "at risk" elderly -- our goal is to install 320 units.

Free Dinner for MetroWest Veterans and Families
To honor our armed forces veterans, and to show our deep appreciation for their service, The Plymouth Church, Edwards Church, and Open Spirit―joyfully invite all veterans living in MetroWest, and their families, to a FREE honorary dinner at The Plymouth Church, 87 Edgell Road in Framingham, on Sunday, November 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The dinner includes chicken piccata, vegetable lasagna, meatballs, salad, bread, and dessert, and will also feature "A Conversation with Ed Carr," in which Ed will share his experience as a U.S. Marine Veteran and how he uses equine therapy to cope with PTSD. Ed's strength and perseverance echo through his work with the MetroWest Transit Authority and through his efforts to create the MetroWest Vietnam Veterans Monument. Music will be provided by Dave Jost/Don Ryan Jazz Duo.All MetroWest veterans and their families are invited. Please RSVP to 508.875.1364 by Monday, November 6, to be entered in a raffle.
