Full Moon Scratchboard Workshop

Dickerman Education BuildingPaintings of stars and the moon go back thousands of years and can be witnessed in the earliest cave paintings. The practice of representing the natural world through art is as old as humanity itself.In this workshop, attendees will create their own lunar art in the form of a scratchboard to take home with them. Techniques will be demonstrated and practiced before beginning the final piece, no previous experience necessary. Supplies will be provided.Participants are encouraged to create their own unique image, while having the support of reference materials and personal guidance. Outdoors Rx at the Carol Getchell Trail
Find out where the wild things live! We'll look for signs of otters, fisher cats and beavers along the wooden boardwalk beside the Sudbury River. Outdoors Rx is a free program of the Appalachian Mountain Club for families with children from 0-13 designed to get everyone outdoors and having fun.The walk will take place from 10:00-11:00 AM. Meet at 39 Edwards Street at the parking lot of the Edwards Church, UCC.

McAuliffe Branch Library Bricks Celebration
The Framingham Public Library Foundation has 889 reasons to celebrate.That's the number of personalized bricks that were purchased by library supporters to defray the cost to the town of constructing the new McAuliffe branch library in Nobscot, and now the foundation is holding a celebration to recognize that support.The bricks are installed in two patios in front of the McAuliffe, and on Sunday, September 24 from 1-3 p.m. library supporters who purchased the bricks are invited to join foundation board members and library staff at the branch library at 746 Water Street.The event will formally acknowledge and celebrate the community support that contributed to the successful effort to open the first new branch library building in Framingham in decades.The celebration will include speakers from the foundation and the library, refreshments, and musical entertainment from Framingham High School drama students.

Plymouth Church Fall Fair
On Saturday, September 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., The Plymouth Church in Framingham is excited to invite the entire community to its annual Fall Fair. A beloved autumn tradition, the Plymouth Church Fall Fair boasts something for everyone: a huge "White Elephant" tag sale, an Old-Fashioned Country Store with homemade jams, fudge and candies, themed gift baskets, handmade gifts, Crafts Shop, Costume Shop, a Cookie Walk, books for all ages, Christmas crafts and decorations, and a variety of fun activities for kids, including a Monkey Bridge, Star Wars Bouncy House, and a free magic show featuring local talent JoJo the Magician. You won't want to miss out on this fun-for-all-ages community event!
