Heart of Hunger Challenge
The United Way of Tri-County is kicking off 2021 by introducing a new fundraising event in February, the Heart of Hunger Challenge. The Challenge is a month-long fitness challenge where participants run or walk a minimum of 1 mile, every day during the month of February, outdoors! Money raised will support the United Way’s three food pantries and two hot meal programs still experiencing increased demand due to the pandemic. All participants who log-in their miles in the month of February are eligible for our Heart of Hunger Raffle!Registration is $15 and 100% will support United Way food programs. Washington's Birthday
United Stated Federal Holiday, government offices, schools, and some businesses may be closed. Holiday celebrates the birthday of the 1st President of the United States -- George Washington. Although his birthday is February 22, (he was born in the year 1732), it is celebrated on the 3rd Monday of February to give Federal Employees and others a three-day weekend. While many refer to the holiday as "Presidents Day", officially, it's "Washington's Birthday".
