Daryl Lowery, saxophonist, was born and raised in the Metropolitan New York area were he was exposed to Jazz, Soul, Funk, R&B and fell in love with these and other African American art forms. Daryl came to Boston to study at New England Conservatory and has since recorded and/or performed with such notables as imortals Dizzy Gilespie and Jackie Byard, the eclectic Ran Blake and Boston's funk legend Ellis Hall. In addition to occasional tours during the past five years with Sony Music artist Al Kooper, he performs regularly with the Boston based Soul/R&B Urban Renewal Band, the Greg Hopkins 16 Piece Jazz Orchestra and Blues After Dark. Daryl has been a Berklee College of Music faculty member since 1987.About the Jam:The jam balances high level playing with a spirit of welcome andcommunity. ''Let It Be-Mary's Story'' at St. Bridget's Church
On May 26th at 7pm, world renowned singer/songwriter Tajci will perform "Let It Be-Mary's Story" at St. Bridget's Church, 832 Worcester Road in Framingham, Massachusetts. The event features TAJCI on keyboards, backed by accomplished electronic instrumentalist Denny Bouchard. Since the spring of 2000, Tatiana (Tajci) Cameron has shared her spiritual programs in over 650 concerts building a nationwide following for the artist who, as a teenager, was a pop music superstar in Communist Central Europe. Tajci abandoned her fame at age 21 and came to the United States, where she eventually began performing in churches across America. Tatiana (Tajci) Cameron, in collaboration with Los Angeles based producer Denny Bouchard - adapted and arranged a wide array of musical styles, traditions and ethnic origins into a mesmerizing musical piece. This performance, executed with tremendous artistry and deep sincere spirituality, features Contemporary Christian favorites, Tajci's original songs, Hebrew and Gregorian chants and Classic Hymns. "People are hungry to be fed spiritually and this is a great way to do it, through this woman's music," says Reverend John Skehan of St. Christopher's Church in York, ME, where Tajci performed last spring.
