Framingham's Repair Cafe! (at Open Spirit)
Framingham's next Repair Cafe is getting under way and we're looking for handy volunteers. Please sign up at: if you can help! *** Got something that needs fixing or mending? Bring it to the Repair Cafe Saturday, Oct 8th, 2022 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Open Spirit, 39 Edwards St, Framingham MA. *** Our volunteers can help fix many things for FREE including: clothing, lamps, small appliances, computers/other electronics, bikes, batteries, toys, jewelry, and sewing machines. We will also have a station for sharpening knives, scissors and garden tools. If you know what parts are needed, please get them ahead of time. Let us know if you have any questions.

Scholarly & Creative Showcase SeriesFree STEM Textbooks: Open Educational Resources and EquityWednesday, October 12, 2022, 6-8 p.m.Alumni Room, McCarthy Center & Zoom meetingThe adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) and other free or low-cost course materials has the capacity to increase the successful engagement of students in their courses, both because of their affordability and because they may better ignite the interests and meet the needs of diverse populations. Have you been wondering how best to identify and incorporate such materials into your courses? Join us on October 12th as FSU faculty members share their experiences using, adapting, and creating Open Educational Resources for STEM courses with an eye to improving equity in the classroom. Panel members include: Santosha Adhibhatta, Benjamin Atchison, Lawrence McKenna, Amanda Simons, and Patricia Lynne (Moderator). This Scholarly and Creative Showcase will take place on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 6:00pm on campus in the Alumni Room, McCarthy Center or via Zoom.

Spilka's annual health and wellness fair returns to an in-person format with a revised name, a broadened focus that includes active older adults, a streamlined registration process, and an invitation for younger generations to accompany older family members to the event. *** The fair, now renamed the "55+ Fair: Health and Wellness for Active Agers and Those Who Love Them" is slated for October 22, 2022 at Keefe Regional Technical School, 750 Winter Street, Framingham, MA *** Use link below to register (after Sept. 15th).
