Framingham Recycling Information, including leaf & brush pickup schedule

The Town of Framingham, Massachusetts offers weekly curbside recycling to residents along with municipal trash collection. Paper, plastic and other acceptible materials left in recycling bins on the curb are collected every week on your regular trash collection day.

Paper:

Place in paper bag next to bin.
  • Newspaper (with inserts)

  • Magazines/catalogues, phone books

  • Junk mail

  • Office paper/ brown bags

  • Paperboard (e.g. cracker, cereal boxes)

  • Corrugated cardboard, flatten to 3'x 3' or smaller.
    All cardboard collected through recycling program only.
    No soiled paper, pizza boxes, or plastic bags

Containers:

Container Recycling, Rinse and place inside of bin
  • Glass bottles/ jars - No other glass such as light bulbs, window or auto glass, dishes, glasses, Pyrex.

  • Aluminum and steel/ tin food and beverage cans - No paint or aerosol cans or aluminum foil.

  • Plastic bottles and jars marked - No motor oil containers or plastic bags.

  • Milk & juice cartons and drink boxes
    No plastic bags.


Holidays Observed

Whenever a scheduled collection day falls on a holiday, that day's collection and all remaining collections for the week will be delayed one day. Friday's collection will be on Saturday. Observed holidays:

Brush must be tied, bundled, no more than 4 inches in diameter and no longer than 4 feet.



Yard Waste - Curbside Collection & Drop-Off

Yard waste consisting of leaves, brush, grass clippings and shrub trimmings may be brought to the Dudley Road Compost Drop-Off Site seasonally, (Fri & Sat, 8am-3pm and Sun, 11am-3pm.)

Curbside yard waste collection schedule (above) occurs on the same day as trash collection.

All yard waste must be properly bagged in biodegradable paper yard waste bags or placed in barrels clearly marked "YARD WASTE".

Bags and barrels must not weigh more than 40 pounds and must be in good condition.

No plastic bags, stumps, dirt or rocks will be accepted curbside or at the Drop-Off Site.




Drop Off Recycling

Drop-off Recycling in open to Residents Only (valid vehicle registration required)

All curbside recyclable materials and the items listed at right may be dropped off at the Mount Wayte Ave Recycle Drop-Off Center. Fri & Sat, 8am-3pm and Sun, 11am-3pm. Closed Easter Sunday.

Some items may require a fee for drop-off disposal.

The items listed below may also be scheduled for special curbside collection for an additional fee.

ELECTRONICS
TVs and computer monitors, florescent light bulbs, rechargeable batteries
HOUSEHOLD
Household furniture and clean clothing
AUTO
Tires - with or without rims
Antifreeze, motor oil, filters, car batteries
WHITE GOODS
Large appliances*, propane tanks
*Remove refrigerator doors


Need a recycle bin?

Recycle bins are available for purchase in two sizes at the Mount Wayte Ave Recycle Drop-Off Center. Residents of three (3) and four (4)-family dwellings may be eligible to receive up to two (2) 65 gallon wheeled recycling carts. Call for more details!





Massachusetts prohibits the disposal of the following items:
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Bottles and cans
  • Leaves and yard waste
  • Car batteries
  • TVs and computer monitors
  • Large home appliances
