Bridge—Beginners & Others - Contract bridge has been a very popular card game for many years. It is easy to learn to bid and play, yet there is so much variability in the billions of possibilities that it always remains challenging. There has been a beginner’s bridge class in Callahan since the senior center’s opening, and before that in the old Danforth Building. It remains very popular among the players, who no longer can be called beginners but continue to come and play and learn. If you would like to begin learning, or wish to brush up on bridge bidding and play, you are welcome to the new class on Friday afternoons at 1:00 pm in the multi-purpose room. The class will be given by long-time instructor, Edward Carr, and his able assistant and wife, Wendy.

Classes will start Friday, November 10th and will consist of a one and a half hour lecture, followed by an hour of play of selected hands to reinforce the principles set forth in the lecture. After this, the room and instructors will be available for further questions and free play. Lessons are free, and you will enjoy them. Don’t forget — every Friday at 1:00 pm starting on November 10th!
