Public invited to participate in library focus group

Group will help long range planning for Framingham Libraries

March 11, 2007  (18:32:47 EST)

FRAMINGHAM, MA – Users of the Framingham Public Libraries have the opportunity to give their input on the future of the libraries.

The Long Range Planning Committee of the Framingham Public Library is organizing community focus groups that will meet during March and April. Most of these participants will come from committee member suggestions. To broaden this selection, sign up sheets are in both libraries for patrons who might be interested in helping with this process. From these, twelve will be selected for a focus group. The sign-up period will be from March 6 - March 20.

The information on these sheets reads as follows:

HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF YOUR LIBRARY

The Framingham Public Library is currently preparing a long range plan. Part of this planning process involves the selection and formation of focus groups.

The purpose of these groups is to gather opinions and ideas from the
community to help shape the future direction of library service to the town. Each group will meet only once for 1 ½ hours and be led by a neutral and professional group facilitator.

If you would you like to help, please tell us something about yourself and how you currently use the library. If you have any ideas about the future direction of the library, please jot them down here.

Thank you for your time and input. Unfortunately, everyone will not be able to participate in a focus group. However, your ideas will help shape the future of the Framingham Public Library.
Deadline is March 20. Focus groups will take place in March and April.
