FRAMINGHAM, MA --The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest’s “PAC Family Players” presents Disney’s “High School Musical” Thursday, August 23 and Friday, August 24 at 7pm and Saturday, August 25 at 2pm at the Framingham Civic League Theater, 214 Concord Street (Route 126) in downtown Framingham. Advance tickets are $8 for children and seniors, and $10 for adults. Tickets will also be available at the door for $2 more per ticket. To purchase tickets or for more information, call (508) 875-5554 or visit www.pacmetrowest.org.
Adapted by David Simpatico and Bryan Louiselle from the hugely popular Disney movie, this one-act stage version of “High School Musical” is a light-hearted romp through the foibles and self-realizations of adolescence. The main characters are at first identified only through their “cliques,” but as the story progresses, each character is challenged to take risks in order to grow. An incredibly catchy score, dribbling basketball players, eccentric teachers and an evolving love story all come together in this irresistible production!
The PAC Family Players was founded in May 2004 as a showcase and learning opportunity for students in grades 3-8. Thirty-one students from Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Sherborn, Wayland and Ashland will star in this year’s show, directed by PAC Family Players founder Betty Lehrman. PAC music coordinator Josh Del Dotto and beloved choreographer Brandi Lochiatto round out the production staff, along with high school assistants and PAC musical theater alumnae Alison Schwartz and Amy Davis.
Josh Del Dotto has served as music director for dozens of shows for PAC and through Riverside Theatre Works. Josh is currently a doctoral candidate in music performance at Boston University. He will be directing a live band to accompany the talented cast members in “High School Musical.”
