Veterans Tribute - Bus Trip to Bourne National Cemetery
Framingham Elks Lodge 1264 is sponsoring a bus trip to Bourne National Cemetery on Sunday, May 29, 2011. Participants will be part of a Patriotic Tribute complete with a Maritime Band and a wreath laying ceremony while at Bourne. A box lunch will be provided for the bus trip and a BBQ will be held at the Lodge upon return from the National Cemetery. The Bus will leave the Elks lodge at 10:15 AM and return for the BBQ at 4:00 PM. Tickets for the Deluxe Ritchie Bus ride, box lunch and BBQ are only $20 per person. Seating is limited, there are only 55 seats available, first come, first served: Payment must be received not later than May 25, 2011. Vocal Master Class with Broadway Singer Sue Anne Gershenzon
May 30, 2011, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest:A vocal masterclass with New York Broadway Actress and Singer Sue Anne Gershenzon, who has appeared in numerous Broadway shows including Stephen Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park with George". Ms. Gershenzon will conduct a vocal masterclass. Ms. Gershenzon will work with several pre-selected students, and offer tips, advice, and vocal coaching which will be of interest to people of all ages interested in singingand who attend the Master Class. Framingham Memorial Day Program 2011
The Town of Framingham will be holding a program of Memorial Day events on Monday, May 30, 2011. This year's program will have a Civil War theme honoring the 150th Anniversary of the "War Between the States". The program begins at 8:00AM at the Memorial Building, and will continue on to the various cemeteries throughout the town, with special attention to the more than 250 Civil War veterans who's final resting places are in Framingham. At 11:35AM, participants will return to the Memorial Building where the Framingham Veterans Council, Framingham Firefighters, Cub Scouts, elected officials, clergy and a civil war re-enactor will honor our fallen soldiers. Mrs. Paulette Metcalf, Gold Star Mother of SSG Scot J. Metcalf will present the Metcalf Prize to the winning essayist. Framingham Firefighters, Local 1652 will retire colors at 12:50PM, closing the program at 1:00PM.

Auditions for A.R. Gurney's comedy, Sylvia
The Amazing Theater Company announces auditions for A.R. Gurney's Sylvia on Tues. 5/31 & Wed. 6/1 at 7pm, at Amazing Things Arts Center, 160 Hollis St., Framingham. If needed, callbacks will be Thurs., 6/2. Bring resume/headshot if you have them. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Familiarity with the script is encouraged, but not required. We welcome actors with all levels of experience.Show dates: July 22, 23, 29, 30 @ 8pm; July 24 & 31 @ 3pm.Roles:-Sylvia, the dog (20-35)-Greg (40-50)-Kate (40-50)One actor typically plays the following, though a different actor might play each:-Tom, another dog owner (30-60)-Phyllis, Kate's college friend (40-50)-Leslie, an androgynous marriage counselor (30-60)The Story: One day, Greg brings home a dog whose tag says "Sylvia."
