Summer Concert Series: Wolverine Jazz Quintet (at Library)
August 13, 7:00pm The Wolverine Jazz Quintet performs a selection of tunes made famous by jazz artists of the 1920's and 30's - Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong and King Oliver with a few surprises along the way. Avenue Q, the Musical
The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest (PAC) is pleased to present Avenue Q, the musical, featuring a cast of students from high school through college, from the MetroWest area on Friday, August 14 at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, August 15 at 7:30 pm at Dennison Memorial Hall at the Boston Church of Christ, 214 Concord Street, Framingham. With lyrics and music by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and book by Jeff Whitty, this comic musical is suitable for ages 13 and up (PG13).Tony-winning musical Avenue Q is the hilarious and heartfelt story of a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York with big dreams and little money. He can only afford to live on Avenue Q, but his neighbors turn out to be a remarkably funny bunch of characters. It's a grown-up episode of Sesame Street, with satirical songs and jokes, and puppets and humans interacting.Advance tickets: Adults $16; Seniors & Youth: $14; all tickets $2 more at the door. Every day, 13 children in the United States get the news that they have one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer.These kids are our Stars, and you can help them by participating in a Ride for Kids event as a motorcyclist, fundraiser or volunteer. Framingham event is at BOSE Headquarters, Framingham.Riders on all makes and models are welcome to attend. There is no registration fee! Online registration is open until noon Eastern on the Friday before the ride. Onsite registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 9:30 a.m.The escorted ride starts at 10 a.m. sharp, rain or shine! Announcing Free Lesson Day at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest (PAC), Sunday August 30, 2015 from 1:00-5:00 pm. Take a private 30 minute lesson in piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, guitar, ukulele, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, clarinet, flute or drums.This is a good opportunity to meet the PAC faculty and determine if lessons are appropriate for children, teens or adults. Reservations preferred by calling the PAC office at (508) 875-5554. Walk-ins accommodated when possible. Some instruments provided. Free and open to the public. PAC is located at 140 Pearl Street, on the third floor of the Danforth Museum Building, in downtown Framingham.
