This is the story of the USS Quincy, an American heavy cruiser built in, and named after, the city of Quincy. Once World War II hostilities commenced in 1941, the Quincy was assigned to the Atlantic until mid 1942 when she joined the Pacific fleet for the invasion of Guadalcanal. On the night of August 9th, she was engaged in a fierce night battle with a Japanese surface force. Quincy suffered severe damage and sank along with three other Allied cruisers, in a devastating blow to the US navy. This is the story of the courageous men who did their very best, despite finding themselves in a desperate situation. Refreshments by Trader Joe's.
